CALIFORNIA BLUE

by

David Klass

This novel will involve you into a environmental debate that you didn't even know you cared about. Throughout the novel, John must accept and act upon numerous conflicts. What should John do about the California Blue? How should he act around Miss Merrill? What can he say to his father? Working through the problems with John, you can't help but "take sides," even wanting to yell your opinion into the book.

As we work on this unit, we take a creative approach to vocabulary; we learn how to persuade people to our side of an issue; and we make connections from this wonderful piece of literature to our own lives.
